General Membership Meeting - Tuesday, July 27, 5-7 PM
This meeting is being called for Tuesday, July 27th, on the first
floor of the University YMCA (1001 S. Wright Street) from 5-7:00 PM. The
primary purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed contract and
give members the opportunity to ask questions about the text and voice
their opinions. We will also discuss dues and Fair Share. A voting station
will be open for members to cast their ballots on the contract.

Dues By-law Proposal
Also on the agenda is discussion/vote on a proposed by-law to the GEO
constitution on the issue of setting dues payments. The proposed text of
the by-law is as follows:
The Coordinating Committee shall be authorized to set dues between the
minimum level mandated by the American Federation of Teachers'
constitution and two percent (2%) of wages. No employee will be required
to pay more than $45 per month in dues. |
