Arms Control Group Launches Missile Defense Web Page |

WASHINGTON - September 6 - The Council for a Livable the World Education Fund today unveiled www.shieldofdreams.org, a new web site devoted exclusively to its campaign against national missile defense. |
"Our shieldofdreams.org works, and it doesn't cost billions," said John Isaacs, president of the Council for a Livable World and senior policy analyst of its Education Fund.
"People will use it to stay informed and become active in the campaign to stop the Bush Administration from deploying missile defense and canceling the ABM Treaty."
The web page will have the latest news stories relating to missile defense, as well as alerts to future legislative action and links that will help citizens contact their Members of Congress, write letters to the editor, and organize their own communities.
The Education Fund recently started a weekly e-newsletter Shield of Dreams. Visitors to the new site can subscribe to the newsletter if the want to stay informed on the latest news regarding missile defense.
"The Bush Administration is going full-speed-ahead toward deployment of missile defense. Shieldofdreams.org will make it possible for citizens to put the brakes on this disastrous effort," Isaacs said.
