Want to learn how to make a RADIO NEWS program? Audio engineer, teacher, and IMC Radio News co-founder Paul Kotheimer offers a training session. |
"IMC Radio News Audio Training Happy Hour"
this Friday, 7/9/2004, at 5:30PM,
in the IMC Production Room,
218 West Main Suite 110
Paul Kotheimer, audio activist and co-founder of the IMC Radio News working group, offers a training session for new IMC Radio producers.
He can teach you how to...:
make better-sounding recordings on location or at home
move audio from minidisc to computer
record a phone interview
script and record voiceovers
edit audio using SoundForge
tweak your levels and EQ to get the best sound quality
add music or ambient sound "underneath" your raw audio
make an mp3 and upload it to www.ucimc.org
burn a CD
There are also a few things to learn about the microphones, mixing board, and other
components of the Production room's audio setup.
Hopefully there will be time for all these things, but the session will RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ATTEND, so please come armed with QUESTIONS, PROBLEMS, and EXAMPLES of things YOU WANT TO DO!
Please bring minidiscs and CDs with AUDIO on them--even if it's just a recording of yourself singing in the shower! If you're currently working on a news story for IMC Radio News, please BRING YOUR RAW AUDIO!!
Hey--while we're at it, why don't we videotape this training session so that future newcomers can watch it any time they need some training??? Any volunteer(s) want to take that up as an assignment?
Please e-mail me to RSVP for this session!
