ANSWER ANTI-WAR MARCH June 5 SAN FRANCISCO
In solidarity with protests in Washinton D.C., and LA, almost one hundred gathered in downtown San Francisco for an anti-war rally and march called by ANSWER. The Rally was held at U.N. Plaza then marched heading down Market St. to Justin Herman Plaza on the Embarcadero protesting against the capitalist war machine currently masquerading as the U.S. Government and the Imperialist U.S. Occupation in Iraq.We where able to take a cable car on part of the march. "these streets are steep, and we needed to rest before continuing the protest. so we had a quick stop at starbucks for some coffee and another stop for corndog's on a stick. the rally went smoothly despite the continued interruption of the rally by the homeless asking for change. We invited them to an F&B event but most said that they have eaten better things out of dumpsters, and would rather dumpster-dive than get "preached at" in another F&B event. as we where just getting rolling protesters from the anti-Israel rally told us we had to stop because they had a permit for a rally here and we had to leave. We argued for about twenty minutes then they asked if we wanted our butt's kicked. to make a long story short we had to stop the rally and go home. |
