Join Chicago In Action this September in Washington, DC as we protest the greed of the World Bank and IMF |
Chicago In Action (CIA) is a grassroots activists' organization that is currently mobilizing to protest the World Bank/IMF meetings in September. If you're interested in going, contact CIA for a bus ticket ($65 per ticket, $100 if you can afford it). If you can't make it to DC Sept 28-30, there will be actions going on in Chicago that weekend-- a solidarity march, a vigil, an open educational forum, and a "people's party". Show the IMF/World Bank that you will no longer tolerate the exploitation of the world's people and resources! |

C'mon people....
Don't the people in U-C need to see a solidarity demo for this?
You give the Oil Conglomerates more money when you go out of town for demos, and you leave the people in your own town thinking that things like anti-cqpitalist demonstrations are only for "big city folks"
bring it home!
a large percentage of the future leaders of this state are students there at UIUC
they NEED to be reached!
You have your own IMC
you have computers EVERYWHERE
You can have a RTS even with a location TBA at the last moment
Perhaps even take a cue from the Ravers and have a information location announced where people can go to find out where it is, but via word of mouth so if the cops come in they get sent on a wild goose-chase!
It's time we start bringing this whole movement thing home.
I'm not from U-C so I'm not even going to attempt organizing anything, so don't take this as an offer to organize it for you (I'm trying to get something going in my town tho so hopefully i'll be telling you how it went in early October!)
Wouldn't it be great if every city in this state with a population over 5,000 had their own demo?
Imagine the mainstream media trying to ignore THAT! |
