David Blume Talks Permaculture at UIUC April 23rd |

Permaculture activist David Blume (also known as Farmer Dave) will speak at the UIUC's Turner Hall and afterwards at a potluck dinner in Champaign. |
Widely advocated as a positive alternative to big profit agribusiness, GMO's, factory farming, deforestation, and suburban sprawl, PERMACULTURE has been defined as "a design system for creating sustainable human environments in balance and harmony with nature."
David Blume, a renowned practitioner of Permaculture, also known as "Farmer Dave," (for full bio, see http://www.permaculture.com/who/davidblume.htm) will be speaking twice in Champaign on Friday, April 23rd.
From 3:00-4:30 PM, David will give a lecture entitled "Introduction to Permaculture," along with an open discussion period, at Turner Hall on the campus of the University of Illiois. The event is free of charge and open to the public, and is sponsored by the UIUC AgroEcology/Sustainable Agriculture (ASAP) Program. From 6:00-8:00 PM, David will attend a potluck dinner with an introductory talk and question-and-answer session. The event is sponsored by Prairieland Slow Foods and will be hosted at the home of Laurence Mate, 405 N. Garfield Ave. in Champaign. This event carries a suggested donation of $5-$15.
