On Thursday, April 22nd, the Illinois Disciples Foundation’s Second Annual Human Rights Film Series will show "Stolen Moments", which attempts to detail the struggle of lesbians to survive in a hostile world. Beginning with modern day celebrations of pride, it moves back through time, documenting the many successes and setbacks in the struggle for recognition of lesbian identities and rights. After the film, there will be a facilitated discussion. The film series is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. The IDF is located at the NW corner of Springfield and Wright St. in Champaign. For more information, please call the IDF at (217) 352-8721 or check out the website at www.prairienet.org/idf. |
