Clothesline Project Display
The Clothesline Project is a visual display that calls attention to
violence against women. The Project
displays shirts designed by survivors, families and friends of victims of
violence.

Symposium on Domestic Violence

Healing Works exhibit to be held at

"In the Now" Performance
Latzer Hall, University YMCA, 1001 S. Wright St., Champaign
A one woman play written and performed by Terrylene in American sign
language. Terrylene, a deaf
actress, has been featured in many movies, plays and television
appearances. This is her own story about
healing from childhood sexual abuse. This event will be co-sponsored by
the Division of Rehabilitation
Services, Beckwith Residence Hall, and PACE as part of Disabilities
Awareness Week. For more

“A Circle of Healing”: A vigil and speak out to honor survivors of
rape/sexual violence
Hillel Foundation, 503 E. John, Champaign This event will be a time to
acknowledge and honor ourselves
and our loved ones who have experienced sexual violence. We will observe
a moment of silence, as well
as hold a space for people to read writings on healing, speak about their
own experiences, or just listen.

"Take Back the Night" Rally and March
Downtown Champaign
A locally organized event aimed at publicly protest the conditions that
cause women to feel unsafe when
alone at night on the streets. The rally begins at 7pm and is open to
everyone regardless of gender. The
march will begin at 8pm. As the march is an opportunity for woman to come
together to symbolically
reclaim “the night,” the march is open to woman and transgender persons
only. A men’s dialogue about
ways that men can work to end this violence against women will be held
simultaneous to the march. Child
