Students from Urbana High School will hold the yearly "Hunger Banquet" to raise money for Oxfam International. The "Hunger Banquet" benefit will be held on Saturday, April 3rd, from 5-7pm in the Urbana Middle School cafetorium, at 1201 South Vine Street in Urbana.
Oxfam International is a non-governmental, privately funded agency that works in partnership with local groups aroudn the world to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice.
Everyone is invited to attend the hunger banquet -- an educational, eye-opening experience. This is no ordinary meal. For a donation of 5.00 of more, you will be randomly assigned to the category of well-off, middle class, or poor -- and served accordingly. After an Oxfam Hunger banquet you'll never think about world hunger the same way again -- and you'll be glad to have helped in the fight to end it. Various forms of entertainment will accompany the meal. *********** |
