s/f imc has taken to stealing it's stories and pictures from other IMC's
s/f imc steals thier stories from s/f bay!

s/f imc has taken to stealing it's stories and pictures from other IMC's

hey, who is posting these pictures on this site? they were not posted by the original author. these pics were only posted to indybay. it's not cool to steal our media, especially when this site won't even link to indybay.

media work belongs to those who make their own media, the makers should control where it ends up, and which site it is posted to. the workers should control their own work. please stop posting stuff that isn't made by you or by san fran indymedia.

If Indybay is posting stories copyleft, then SF-IMC can repost them. Welcome to Indymedia.

The real problem with the post in question is that someone altered the content and reposted it as the original author on SF IMC. We get that sort of crap here and it usually gets tracked back to DAN, for whom it is one of the primary identifying features of his work.

There is a particularly astute message about this on the US Process list:
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-us-process/2004-March/000555.html
The observations in this note from bradley at the Santa Cruz IMC tells us that this is more tell-tale work from disruptive elements seeking to exploit and inflame a local conflict. DAN fits the profile to a T. Someone really needs to deal with that asshole in Sacramento if they want to get to the bottom of this, IMHO.

Where is the problem ?
I have seen on sf-imc that someone 'stole' even my posts,( despite my english is so bad.).
But I'm happy that my anti-racist words spreads all over the world.
NO ONE SHOULD HAVE a WORD'S MONOPOLY , more over as IMC is an 'anarchist' site (is it ?).
WORDS BELONGS TO EVERYONE !!

There shouldn't be any childish competition 'my post ' 'your post'.

Please, feel free to steal my words below :

Anti-Zionism is racism.
Period.

Looking into it a little more, I see that ML is right -- that the issue isn't simply that the stuff was reposted, but that the links were altered too, without notification. The fact that SF-IMC replaced the photos with a snide call to harrass Indybay and Peter doesn't help much.

I know how I'd feel if someone forged my name to something that isn't what I wrote. It could simply have been sloppiness on the reposter's part, but Peter has a right to complain.

And I can also certainly understand the hard feelings Peter would have for SF-IMC, especially considering the volume of actual original reporting on Indybay versus SF-IMC.

SF-IMC has responded, not atypically, with an act of utter ass-hat-ness (or should that be ass-hat-nessie?) by replacing the photos with an open appeal to harrass SFBay and the original photographer, conveniently providing the email addresses of both.

And to think nessie sez its Thuh Zionists dragging down the Indymedia system.
