For "Collective Interest" radio Sebastian James and I interviewed a number of Illinois US Senate candidates.
All were asked six questions. The issues covered were: al Qaeda, the "War on Terrorism", int'l financial institutions, election reform, ethnicity & Social Security. You can listen to the candidates at http://collectiveinterest.net. There is also a section to comment on the interviews. |
To our knowledge, this is the first internet-only political debate, and Collective Interest is happy to be the first to bring it to you. Republicans participating in the online event are Jack Ryan, John Borling, Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria, and Andy Martin. Democrat participants are Nancy Skinner and Joyce Washington. The debate will air through Tuesday, March 16th.
Each candidate was allowed a 2-minute introduction, then asked the same set of questions. They were allowed 2 minutes to respond to each question, followed by 20 minutes of follow-up questions and answers. Responses were taken in their entirety and each response track was placed side-by-side with the other candidates.
John Borling's comments will appear in their entirety after the debate proper. Although he chose not to follow the format, we feel his comments need to be heard by voters. |
