A4 - An Appeal for Rational Event Nomenclature |

A brief rant about my disgust with the present way of referring to organized international protests |
N30, A16, A20, S11, M17, WTF? How in the hell did this nonsense get started? Has it ever
occured to anyone that this nomenclature makes no sense whatsoever to those who are not
already familiar with the event in question? And, more importantly, hasn't anyone ever noticed
that there are two months that start with 'A' and 'M', and THREE months that start with 'J'?
And, if you can think that far ahead, you might notice that the months do recycle once every year.
Now, following through on that last thought, this brings up the possibility that we can have EXACTLY
THE SAME NAME for different events, in different locations, in the SAME FUCKING YEAR. Who was the
jackass that thought of this, and could (s)he please step forward to receive a collective bitchslap.
And, more importantly (again), why has everybody else followed like sheep with this nonsense?
Please, please, PLEASE, I BEG YOU ALL, can we at least try to come up with more creative, less
confusing ways of referencing these events? Pretty please? |
