There is a new website by a local joe. Find out more and respond to my poll (of sorts). |
There is a new website written by a local joe (Urbana IL) who has this to say in his personal email announcing his site:
"Well, its finally happened. I've read so much media that I can't simply absorb it and go to sleep anymore. So I setup a website to hold my critiques, observations, thoughts, and rants on the topics of the media, politics, and the arts. "
"Every day seems to bring another unbelievable revelation in the world of politics and media. Bushco controls the airwaves. Lies go
unchallenged in the 'free' press. "
"I've joined the ranks of the self-published. I hope to keep with it, writing often. I'll critique media bias when I see it, point out
strange contradictions in the press, throw out my opinion on all things political, and talk about the arts when it comes up as well...
The address for the website is www.criticalviewer.com and the tag line is:
temporally organized thoughts on media, politics, and the arts.
OTHER LOCAL WEBSITES
Newspoetry is still going though not as strongly as when it was edited by it's founder William or it's editor-in-thief (Joe). But you can still read a great poem whilst whetting your political whistle. Often contributing poet is John Newmark. www.newspoetry.org
Check out www.mediageek.org for the serious side of media critique and news – or for even more seriousness -- how about www.robertmcchesney.com
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE?
I would like to include your favorite website that is locally driven on a future edition of UCIMC radio news. Please comment below with any of your favorites and if you are so compelled--let us know why. |
