camera deters warrentless arrest |
the prospect of news continues to ridicule us.
look, now i really mean it this time, until you
clean up your society, no news. we're going to
serve you the same rehashed cellulose that you
thought you finished last night.
so, i was walking home from the schoolhouse, had
just heard again about the deadest protester in
italy, and to punctuate my social intentions, had
heard the the imc is the only group in town
traditional enough to protest. for whom does the
media revolt?
anyway, i was distracted from my dreams of
discompassion by the twinkling lighthouses of
justice. behind the schnucks complex at main and
vine, two cops searching a car and a white man
sulking around. don't get excited, i told you,
no news until after desert.
so, i was walking home from the schoolhouse, had just heard again about the deadest protester in italy, and to punctuate my social intentions, had heard the the imc is the only group in town traditional enough to protest. for whom does the media revolt? anyway, i was distracted from my dreams of discompassion by the twinkling lighthouses of justice. behind the schnucks complex at main and vine, two cops searching a car and a white man sulking around. don't get excited, i told you, no news until after desert. as i was saying, the stalker was a plain-cop-in-training-clothes. after a few minutes, they unpacked a black man from the backseat in handcuffs. compromise. back to the story, i was coming home, i work for a theater ensemble in town and had been doing some work with a video camera. we now return for the adjectival conclusion: the cops left the man standing there by his car. he had had his license suspended. piqued with guilt, i realized that the cops had not been searching this man's car for possession of some evidence, they were helping him find his drivers license. the handcuffs and the backseat were a personal favor to the man whose name i didn't ask for. "they were gonna take me in, but when they saw that camera, they got real polite. we need more cameras." this is not a plug for the imc. we do not need more reports. save your time and plagiarise last week's repeat of the previous week's story. this is not revolution, this is maintenance of the language that we have inherited, and because this is written, next week you will hear another case of police frugality. |
