Defend Joe Parnarauskis!

We are making an urgent appeal for IMC readers to write e-mails in defense of Socialist Equality Party candidate Joe Parnarauskis’s right to be on the ballot for state Senate in the November elections. As you may have read in the News-Gazette or the Daily Illini, despite having conscientiously followed all state laws and gathering nearly 5,000 signatures, the Illinois Democratic Party is attempting to remove him from the ballot.

The Illinois State Board of Elections is about to make a decision on the case! Please write e-mails of protest to the Board of Elections webmaster@elections.state.il.us, and Please send copies of all messages to the WSWS so that readers all over the world can see that working people in Illinois are fighting for basic democratic rights.

This is not only about Joe’s rights. It is also the basic right of all those who signed SEP petitions and all voters in this district to have a choice on the ballot. Let the voters decide!
