The next Green Tea will be on the No New Nukes Campaign and on Municipal Energy in Champaign-Urbana. |
Power issues have become increasingly relevant. A new nuclear reactor at the Clinton Nuclear Power plant has been proposed. And the Champaign and Urbana city councils have been discussing "unplugging" Illinois Power and developing their own municipal power service. The No New Nukes campaign addresses the threat of new nuclear power plants. And Green Party members long interested in municipal power will discuss these recent developments.
And tea will be served!
All are welcome. Green Teas are on the third Wednesday of the month (Nov. 19th) at 7:00 PM. They are held at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center at 218 W. Main St., Suite 110 Urbana. This is between Strawberry Fields and The Office bar. We meet in the middle meeting room / art gallery.
