The Midwest Democracy Center is working to bring a real, participatory democracy to Illinois and the Midwest. Its Executive Director is former local resident, Dan Johnson-Weinberger. |
The Center is non-profit membership driven advocacy organization, dedicated to making our government more
democratic and representative.
They have identified the best practices of democracy in the Midwest, and work to spread these progressive reforms to the rest of the country.
The Center is working on implementing a number of projects including proportional representation, instant-runoff voting and reforming the redistricting process. There is a link to a very interesting report on how predictable Illinois elections have become, "No Polling Required." |
