The latest Shortwave Report (August 29) is up at the websitehttp://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.2MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (28:52) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via http://www.kzyx.org

This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, China Radio International, the Voice of Russia, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From Netherlands- An appeals court in Chile turned down a request to remove immunity from prosecuting former dictator Pinochet. The two main left-wing rebel groups in Columbia have joined to reject peace talks and form a democratic shadow government. The 2 deadly bombing attacks in India have catapulted tension with Pakistan, though no one has claimed responsibility. Then an update on the state of genetically-modified foods in Europe, and why the citizens are so worried about them.
From China- The Palestinian National Authority is trying to establish a new cease-fire, and they want Israel to agree to cease attacks as well. The deaths of US soldiers in the so-called post-war Iraq is now equal to the number who died during the war, raising the question if these troops can handle the situation.
From Russia- First a commentary on the expansion of the US detention center in Guantanemo Bay, which continues to be a global controversy. Then a report on the increase in drug production in Afghanistan, which Russia and Central Asian countries say is not being confronted by the US military forces.
From Cuba- a Viewpoint from RHC. The US has a global reputation in training terrorists, whether it be the Taliban or the dreaded School of the Americas. Development of a new military school run by the US is underway in Costa Rica, and Latin Americans are worried.
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated.
