Bush's Reaction To 9/11 Attacks--Video Tells Tale |

Hey everyone. You know how we're always being characterized as really hating our country and not caring about its security. Get a load of this. |
This video, acquired by The Memory Hole (a blog) runs about five minutes and shows Bush's reaction to the 9/11 attacks. While the story was that we was steely in his response (he didn't want to upset the kiddies), this is just bizarre. Bush's political wherewithal comes from the fact that people perceive him as being our one true leader in this time of crisis. If we could somehow make facts of the matter known, then that'd be something, now wouldn't it? I don't have much to say on the matter, so I'll quote Tom Tomorrow's blog.
"The White House admits that Bush fully understood what was happening. So keep this in mind while watching: in New York, as these long, precious minutes slowly tick by, people are burning horribly, people are jumping 100 stories to their deaths, and more planes are very likely headed for other targets (the Pentagon, for example, as it turned out).
Bush sits complacently, doing nothing.
Fighter planes desperately need scrambling. The Pentagon not yet been hit. This is a grave national emergency.
Five. Solid. Freaking. Minutes.
Watch the video. Watch it. Watch the damn thing.
And while you do, remember that morning. Remember where you were, how instantly you wanted to help, and how desperately you would have leapt to action given any opportunity to defend this country."
