News :: Protest Activity
Hunger Strike and Daily Marches in Chicago Current rating: 0
25 May 2006
Modified: 09:24:14 AM
The immigrants of Chicago are leaders throughout the nation, they were the first in going en masse (half million on March 10 and May) and the only city where all the IFCO workers were released without bail. These raids are a form of punishment for everyone who marched for legalization. Currently, some IFCO workers are on hunger strike to protest deportation of workers, and there will be daily marches in Chicago.
