A multi-university panel that spent the last six months investigating academic malfeasance by Illinois native (but not Native) Ward Churchill concluded, unanimously, that his scholarship flies in the face of professional standards.
Here's a hint, Ward. When you ghost-write a paper for A, and then ghost-write a paper for B, you don't get to cite A's paper and B's paper as independent verification of your claims.

Yikes. Bogus, unethical liberals get called out. Conservative fakers have nothing to fear. But the real issue is Churchill's integrity right? This is getting scarier by the minute. You think the rightwing shockjocks who call for the return of sedition laws are nothing to be afraid of? Fuck. |

Sorry, I can't get mournful when someone gets pulling the sort of shit Churchill did. And the fact that he's on the left instead of the right just means that the left has become that much better off without him.

Boy, the liberal apologists come right out of the gate firing.......blanks. I am unaware of any conservative university professors currently under investigation for professional misconduct. Would Kevin like to cite some or would he like to continue proving the liberal double standard in academia? No one needs dishonest professors, right or left, but the liberal excuses for Churchill's behavior exposes their bankrupt ideology even on something that everyone should be able to agree on and affects the education of our youth. Pathetic. |

Pardon, me, but circulating in what could generally could be considered "liberal" circles, there are probably far more "liberals" who think Ward is a flake as do not. I don't see any double standard, but I do find it amusing how some people make unsubstantiated generalizations because they somehow think "liberal" is a label that is useful in discrediting a person's opionion.
Even more to the point, Churchill is what is generally consdiered to be a "radical" while I should point out once again that even many radicals think Ward is a flake, too. But if you've got an agenda that lumps everyone to the left of John McCain as a "liberal" these important distinctions are inconvenient to painting the simplistic black-and-white world that you somehow envision represents reality. |

What the Hell are you talking about? No one is making excuses for Churchill's behavior.
The point is that he's being investigated NOT because he's a lousy professor (which apparently he is), but because, and ONLY because, he made some comments about 911 that got the right wing media angry.
You ask me to provide names of conservative professors that are dishonest- well, the whole point of my post (lost on you) was that they don't get investigated. So I can't name any, just as I never would have been able to name Churchill as dishonest if the right wing hadn't insisted on him being investigated.
Let me say it again, since you seem to be a little slow in figuring this out:
There are no conservative professors under investigation NOT because they are more honest, decent, and wonderful than liberals. They aren't being investigated because there is no loud-mouthed political machine demanding their investigation. Once again, Einstein: the initiation of the investigation of Churchill had absolutely, positively, NOTHING to do with his merits as a professor or a scholar. Only the fact that he angered you right wing nutjobs. Now that's pathetic. |
