Filipino Social Democrats assure extreme leftist BAYAN solons case against them very strong Current rating: 0
14 Apr 2006
Demokratiko-Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (PDSP) and author of the Ateneo study asserting that party-list lawmakers belonging to the extreme left channeled millions of pork barrel funds to communist rebels, slammed anew the party-list solons.

“The details that BAYAN MUNA party-list Rep. Satur Ocampo and his colleagues (Rafael Mariano, and Teodoro Casiño of BAYAN MUNA; Liza Maza of GABRIELA; Joel Virador Crispin Beltran of ANAKPAWIS) want, regarding the diversion of their pork barrel funds to abet communist insurgency, are now part of the evidence in the rebellion charges being filed by government against them,” Intengan said.

Jesuit priest Fr. Romeo J. Intengan, one of the founding leaders of the Partido The PDSP leader is reacting to Ocampo’s complaint that his report, The Armed Forces of the Philippines: Defender of the Nation, Guardian of Democracy, and Servant of the People, does not cite a single instance in which public funds were channeled to the communist rebels.

“More cases are being prepared against them. I cannot give details now as I do not want to jeopardize the witnesses who have committed to testify to back up the cases against them,” Intengan said.

The social democrat leader advised the extreme leftist party-list lawmakers to wait for the tackling of the charges against them in court.

Meanwhile, Intengan’s comrade, National Security Adviser and PDSP Chairperson Norberto Gonzales said the party-list representatives need not fear rebellion charges if they truly believe government does not have a strong case against them.

Gonzales, however, reiterated that the evidence he had gathered will prove his charges that the extreme leftist congressmen used part of their “pork barrel” to fund anti-government activities.

“This is treason of the highest order. These congressmen are taking money from the government to use against the government,” Gonzales said.

Message Of Greetings On The Occasion Of The Birth Anniversary Of Comrade Kim Jong Il

Luis G. Jalandoni
Chief International Representative
National Democratic Front of the Philippines
February 16, 2006

On behalf of the 17 revolutionary allied organizations of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Filipino people, the NDFP extends its warmest comradely greetings to Comrade Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the occasion of his birth anniversary on 16th February.

Born amid the flames of the struggle against the Japanese war of aggression and occupation, Comrade Kim Jong Il grew in an environment of intense struggle against imperialism and during the great undertaking of constructing socialism in his beloved Korea. Armed with the correct ideological and political principles, he has helped develop and strengthen the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Korean People's Army into a force that is ever-ready and capable to defeat any enemy that would attack and invade Korea and seek to reverse the victories of the Korean people.

Comrade Kim Jong Il’s trust in the Korean people has forged unity among the Party, the People’s Army and the Korean people. This unity continues to be an invincible force in facing the imperialist enemy and overcoming the effects of natural disasters.

Amidst the onslaught of political, economic and military attacks and threats of US imperialism, the Korean people, under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Il, have time and again defended Korea’s independence and national sovereignty. Not only have they determinedly countered these attacks and threats, they have defended the gains that the people and the Party won in their struggle against imperialism and reaction.

The struggle of the Korean people, like the struggle of the Filipino people, against imperialism is part of an ever-growing and intensifying international fight against imperialism and reaction. With every victory of the people, the enemy is weakened and international solidarity is forged and strengthened.

We join Comrade Kim Jong Il and the Korean people in their fervent aspiration for the peaceful reunification of their country under the banner of independence, peace and national unity.

Long live Comrade Kim Jong Il!
Long live the Korean people!
Long live international solidarity!

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) with its armed group, the New People’s Army (NPA) have been killing and harassing leaders and members of other Philippine Left forces. Just read the following articles from the International Viewpoint and World Social Forum (WSF):
