This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, China Radio International, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
From NETHERLANDS- A review of the state of terrorism at the end of 2005, questioning the effectiveness of the so-called "war on terror," and the increase in the number of terrorists as a result of the war.
From CHINA- Palestinian leader Abbas is pleading with militants to stop launching attacks on Israel, and demanding that Israel stay out of the Gaza Strip. More than 10,000 marched in Baghdad, supporting a national unity party and rejecting recent election results. Iran's foreign minister is willing to discuss his country's nuclear program with the world, but it is not willing to ask permission to develop nuclear technology.
From CUBA- A Viewpoint on the US government's work to destabilize the Cuban revolution, and plans by Bush and friends to turn the island into a banana republic. Former Chilean dictator Pinochet lost an appeal and must now face charges related to Operation Colombo. Geo Bush has been meeting with newspaper editors to prevent stories he considers damaging from being published, such as the secret CIA prisons, and the NSA practice of spying on US citizens.
From RUSSIA- Israel is planning on building several hundred new houses in the West Bank. At the UN, the US and Japan voted against a Russian resolution banning racism, xenophobia, and the glorification of Nazism. An update on the Italian court which has issued arrest warrants against 22 CIA agents who abducted a Muslim priest to take him to Egypt for torture. Then a year in review piece, focusing on the effectiveness of the past 4 years of the so-called "war on terror."

It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.

-- Imbalances in the mainstream media generate a further social danger. Those who don't have access to alternative sources of information have little chance of understanding the arguments of those who do. One result is that the concerns of radicals are widely dismissed as irrational, and their campaigns for a better world are marginalised and even criminalised. This, in turn, leads to political closure: the prohibition of challenges to power.
