The U-C IMC's coverage of the March 20 anti-war protest on the quad and streets of the U of I campus will air tonight (March 26) at 8:30 PM on Urbana Public TV, cable channel 6, following the Global Indymedia Newsreal (which airs at 8 PM). This program will air again on Wed. April 9 at 8:30 PM. |

This video is a short form documentary that provides the kind of in-depth coverage utterly lacking in our mainstream television, which typically would dedicate no more than a minute to such an event.

The March 20th anti-war protest is the largest protest of any kind to happen in Champaign-Urbana for at least 10 years. The IMC was there to record and document the rally and the march when it took over the streets of Champaign and Urbana.

Tune in to Urbana Public TV on Insight Cable channel 6 at 8:30 PM on March 26 and April 9 to see the anti-war spirit in our community. The video follows the Global Indymedia Newsreal, a monthly half-hour international newsprogram assembled from IMCs around the world. The Newsreal airs the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month at 8 PM on UPTV, followed by different programs of independent news and analysis.

If you can't see the video on UPTV, it will soon be placed in the U-C IMC's library on VHS and DVD.
This video was produced by the U-C IMCs Video Group, which is working to create interesting and original video programs for public access TV and other outlets. The Video Group is open to everyone, regardless of skill or experience, and serves as a forum to help one another learn to become the media through video production.
