One of two activists arrested for chalking art and slogans at the Justice Center given $25,000 bail. |
Two activists were arrested in Cincinnati for chalking on the sidewalk outside the Justice Center on Wednesday. One was a juvenile and was released into the custody of her mother who then allowed her to stay and continue to protest, the other was given a $25,000 bond for "Criminal Mischief M1,M3". He is to have a hearing tomorrow in which bail is supposed to be reduced. Due to information I was told, it was unclear as to why this bail was so high except for the Sherriff's statement to activists earlier today, "we're not giving standard bail to protesters". that statement is ridiculous and illegal in its own right, but $25,000 for chalking is nothing more than intimidation and oppression. |
