A class is being offered at the IMC from 6:30-8pm on Mondays during the month of February to take people step-by-step through the process of creating a radio news program. Every participant will be work toward producing a piece for the IMC Radio News program, to air on WEFT, 90.1 FM. No experience necessary! |
Topics include gathering audio in the field and in the studio, phone interviewing, development of stories, angles, transitions, lead-ins, voice-overs, and digital editing, including multi-tracking. You'll gain familiarity with the equipment and software, and be you'll be a part of the process from start to finish, including airing the piece on WEFT.
There are four sessions, and the cost is $30 plus a $5 materials fee (to cover minidiscs and cds.)
The class will be taught be Clint Popetz, who is currently typing in the third person. Please email him at clint (at) ucimc.org to sign up, but walk-ins are also welcome.
If you have a laptop computer that's a PIII/G3 or above, please bring that too, as more workstations will make things run more smoothly.
