Announcement :: UCIMC
Art Openings At The Middle Room Gallery Current rating: 0
11 Nov 2002
The Middle Room Gallery is proud to announce two art openings for the week of November 10th through the 16th.

Tuesday November 12th
The Art of Mecca Normal

Join us Tuesday, at 7pm, for a one day whirlwind show from anarchist/feminist rock duo Jean Smith and David Lester. Collectively known as Mecca Normal, the pair describe themselves as a "two-person guerrilla campaign against apathy."

7:30pm - artists' talk , "How Art and Music Can Change the World" (no charge)
8:00pm - musical performance by Mecca Normal, with local opening acts The Violents, Triple Whip, and Karrrina ($6 dollar cover for concert)

Friday November 15th
The Dreaming Wood
The Art of Cindy Westfall

This Friday, from 7pm-9pm, local artist, illustrator, jeweller and metal-worker Cindy Westfall will greet the public for the opening of her one-woman show. Incorporating mythological and natural elements into a distinctive voice that hints at a darker world hidden just under the surface of our day to day reality, Westfall's work both challenges and delights. Spirits will be provided by The Corkscrew Wine Emporium.
