On the second day of hearings against Champaign School District Assistant Superintendent Deloris Henry, the general public was again ordered to leave the building. Members of the general public who attended the previous night's hearings were told they would be allowed to participate in the hearings this evening. Instead, the public were ordered out of the meeting.

However, the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of community members who had shown up to witness the proceedings. Twice as many people showed up for the Wednesday hearings as had come out on Tuesday evening. And notice of the hearings is continuing to spread through word of mouth as more and more people begin to question the actions of the Champaign School District.
The press were not allowed to record events. And witnesses could only get a brief glimpse of the proceedings through windows in the emergency exit's doors.

Especially interesting to note was that Superintendent Culver appeared not to be present during the proceedings given the gravity of the situation.

In light drizzle, concerned community members talked about the lack of Democracy and transparency during the proceedings. In addition, members of the public expressed concern over Superintendent Culver's actions in the Champaign School District. Of particular interest were allegations that Culver is being sued in Texas and that he may have used the services of a school board member as his personal attorney. |
