On the evening of September 11, 2001 the Urbana-Champaign IMC held a community gathering of concerned residents to discuss fallout from the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Today, the Urbana-Champaign follows this tradition, bringing together our local community to organize, strategize, and resist. Come talk with friends, both old and new, and fight against the oppression, discrimination, and curtailing of basic human rights that the Bush Whitehouse has made a cornerstone of their administration.
Two events everyone should attend:
5pm RACE & MAIN STREET -- Downtown Urbana
6pm INDEPENDENT MEDIA CENTER -- 218 West Main Street |

I've heard that Kerry is conceding he's lost (of course, the voting process at the polls yesterday was all fair and square) and that Bush is gloating that he's won (of course, the voting process at the polls yesterday was all fair and
square).
So FAIR AND SQUARE Kerry and Bush are eager to make both concessions and gloating happen QUICKLY, so that any looking into what ISN'T fair and square won't have time to happen.
We've been betrayed, AGAIN. Huge amount of corruption at the polls, with a huge amount of uncounted votes, and Kerry and Bush with ants in their pants to shut THAT discussion down.
Any angry progressives? Any angry Democrats? Any angry Greens? Anyone else angry?
If so, we're all going to be at the corner of Race and Main Street in Urbana today, Wednesday Nov.3, at 5-6pm -- to protest and up the "clean" closure of our betrayal.
Join us. Tell other people. There'll be a meeting at the IMC at 6pm, about our local political situation and what we're going to be doing over the next few years.
COME ON -- the fallout from this election is just beginning.
6pm INDEPENDENT MEDIA CENTER -- 218 West Main Street
The more I reflect on this presidential election the more my disappointment is displaced by an icy rage. It's a good time to get together with your fellow community members -- we've made huge gains in our local elections and should celebrate those -- but there's much more to do and organize over the next few years. Come to the IMC this evening at 6pm to discuss ideas and tactics, appreciate the victories that we've had, find out what we're going to do!!!
What to bring: Yourself, Friends, Beverages & Snacks, Music, Thoughts Schemes and Strategies, etc.
