We're getting ready to change over from IMC-Dada, the software currently running this site, to new software called Drupal. |
Coming soon: a new look for this site!
UCIMC is very close to moving to a new software platform for this site, and a new look. We're joining several other IMCs around the world who have already moved to the open-source Drupal platform.

Gehrig: you may have to move to a "trusted poster" model. It's a shame, but many boards and forums are moving in that direction. No posts without at least, a username login, which was verified through an email acknowledgement. The spam and troll problem will probably only get worse, and you won't be able to keep up. I also happen to love Drupal. Great move. |

Þ -- I hope that "trusted user" won't be necessary. The main problem is the *^!#^#* spambots, and I have some modest hope that the new system will keep them out.
This is maybe the dozenth drupal site I've set up, but the first time I've actually had to hack the code -- in order to implement that distinctly indymedia feature, the ability to see hidden comments.
