The afternoon begins with a screening of the Cascadia Media Collective's "Guerrilla Media Primer," which gives simple, detailed and useful instructions for anyone to begin shooting high-quality activist video in a variety of situations.
The "Guerrilla Media Primer" will be followed by two short mini-documentaries shot and edited by U-C IMC Video Group members: "Crashing the VIP Room: A Conversation with Vriej Keyser Anarchist TV" and coverage of the March 20 anti-war protests that took over Campustown.
After the videos there will be an hands-on video skill-share where we’ll apply some of the basic techniques used in the afternoon’s videos and discuss ways that video can be put to good use in Champaign-Urbana.
The U-C IMC Video Group's Afternoon of Activist/Anarchist Video happens Saturday April 26, from 1 - 4 PM at the IMC, 218 W. Main St., Downtown Urbana. Everyone is invited and welcome.
The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center Video Group is a volunteer collective dedicated to putting the tools and skills for creating video into the hands of anyone with a use for them.
The Group also promotes independent and activist video and film by holding screenings, film fests and sponsoring programs onto Urbana Public Access TV.
The Video Group meets weekly and everyone is welcome.
